Sonia Alleyne, Nurses Assistant
I grew up on the island of Barbados, was educated at Hindsbury Primary School and Saint Leonard's Girls School, and migrated to Boston in 1990. I am a friendly, outgoing, and reliable person who knows and loves every aspect of my job. I have been employed at Student Health Services for the past seven years. I enjoy working here because it is a family-oriented atmosphere and everyone here makes you feel comfortable and at home. I am currently taking my prerequisite for the RN program which begins in the fall at Roxbury Community College. My hobbies are writing poetry, dancing, cooking, and meeting people. My favorite quote is by Louisa May Alcott: "Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead." I have excellent communication skills; I am team-oriented and work well under pressure. I hope that in the near future I will be as excellent a nurse as I am a human being.
