Lianna Buccieri, LICSW
I’m very excited to be joining the Behavioral Medicine staff at BU, and to be working in a college setting. I grew up in the Boston area, and completed my undergrad at Smith College where I studied Sociology and Gender Studies. I also studied abroad in South Africa, which was a really amazing experience.
I graduated from Simmons College School of Social Work in 2007 with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work. Since then, I have counseled students in several Boston Public Schools, and worked as a clinical social worker in two urban community health centers as a substance abuse counselor and general therapist. I have expertise in working with addictive behaviors and with GLBTQ populations, including people who are in any stage of exploring sexuality and gender identity issues. I am also very interested in social justice activism, and the ways that these issues intersect with clinical work.
