Basil Considine

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABasil Considine is a graduate of the University of San Diego (BA-Music and Theater, ’03), the BU School of Theology (MTS-Liturgical Studies and Musicology, ’06), and the BU Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (PhD-Historical Musicology and Ethnomusicology, ’13). A church musician for more than twenty years, he began his formal church music activities as a professional chorister at the Boston Archdiocesan Choir School of St. Paul Church in Cambridge, MA. He was formerly the Assistant Director of Music at the BU Catholic Center, is an avid composer of church music, and is currently engaged as Cantor at St. Cecilia Parish of Boston. At STH, he studied sacred music with Andrew Shenton, liturgical studies with Karen Westerfield Tucker, and the history of Christian missions with Dana Robert.
