How will I get to my site?
- Most of the sites are accessible by public transportation.
Tutors are paid for time spent traveling to and from
their sites from the BU campus. A standard travel
time rate has been established for each site. BUILD
provides a van or Zipcar for transportation to the
four sites that are difficult to reach via public
transportation.

Can I work for
BUILD during the summer?
- BUILD hires tutors only for the academic year.

How can I get BUILD tutors
for my program?
- If you are interested in having BUILD tutors work
with children on literacy development in your in-school
or after-school programs, please send this request,
in the form of a letter, to Ruth Shane, Director of
the Boston University Collaborative Office. In this
letter, we ask that you describe your program and
specifically your literacy tutoring program, explain
how BUILD tutors would be integrated into the program,
include the number of children in the program, explain
how the program is managed, and describe the role
of the on-site coordinator.
*Please note
that while we welcome these requests, the BUILD program
is not currently looking to expand.
