      Explore high-interest, complex texts that teachers can use with students at a range of grade levels.
  • November 12, 2014 – Disciplinary Literacy: Teaching and Learning Across Modes, Media, and Genres Beyond 4th Grade
    • Dr. Katherine Frankel, Assistant Professor, Boston University
      Discuss the role of literacy in the disciplines and explore emerging, research-based understandings of the connections between literacy and content knowledge.
  • January 28, 2015 - Looking for Common Ground: Writing to Learn, to Respond, and to Meet the Demands of the Common Core
    • Dr. Evelyn Ford-Connors, Lecturer, Boston University
      Explore writing tasks and instructional ideas that support students’ writing development while also strengthening their learning and addressing the demands of the Common Core writing standards.

    Location: Boston University School of Education, RM 423

    Cost: $20 per person per session, includes a light supper with vegetarian options available. Cash or check will be collected at the door.
