Open Rank (tenure/tenure-track) Faculty Position, Special Education
The department of Curriculum and Teaching at Boston University is seeking a qualified candidate for a faculty position in the Special Education Program. This is an open rank, tenure-track position. Responsibilities will include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses; advising students; active engagement in scholarship; and service to the university, the education profession, and the professional community.

Applicants with expertise in the areas of educational research, learning theory, impact of disabilities on learning, assessment of learning abilities, and/or disproportionate representation of culturally and linguistically diverse students in Special Education are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a doctorate in Special Education, educational psychology, or a related field. We are seeking candidates with experience in assessment and education of students with mild to moderate disabilities, prior university teaching experience, and a clear potential for establishing a strong record of scholarship.

Assistant Professor, Early Childhood Education
The Curriculum & Teaching department at Boston University is seeking qualified candidates as an Assistant Professor for its Early Childhood Education Program. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, advising, supervising fieldwork, and active engagement in scholarship. This new faculty member must have an earned doctorate in Early Childhood Education and be prepared to teach courses in Child Development and Early Literacy. Direct experience in preschool settings and a record of scholarship are preferred. We are especially interested in candidates whose training, experience, and research demonstrate success in urban, multicultural/multilingual settings.

Faculty Position in Mathematics Education
The Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Boston University is seeking a qualified candidate for a faculty position in the Mathematics Education program. This is an assistant professor tenure-track position to start September 1, 2010.

Description of Duties

  • Develop and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education (PreK-12).
  • Conduct a program of scholarly research and publication appropriate for mathematics education.
  • Seek external funding for research activities.
  • Provide professional academic advisement to students including those seeking licensure for teaching.
  • Supervise the research of master's and doctoral students.
  • Build positive relations with local schools, other departments at Boston University, the Massachusetts Department of Education, and professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Mathematics Education or Mathematics
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the K-12 level
