Graduate Assistantship, GRASP, and Fellowship Participants   All students who have been granted graduate assistantships should contact Joe Stein to make sure that their financial aid accurately reflects the benefits attached to their positions. This also applies to GRASP and Bilingual Fellowship participants.
     
Graduate Federal Work-Study and BUILD Participants   Check in with Joe Stein to make sure that you still plan to use the funding allocated for your activities. If you do not plan to use the Federal Work-Study funding, notify Joe Stein immediately so that the funds may be awarded to another student.
     
Financial Assistance Applications   If you plan to continue your studies in the next academic year, refer to the SED Graduate Programs Bulletin for instructions on applying for financial assistance for your continuing studies. If you have any questions, stop by the SED Graduate Financial Assistance Office to speak with Joe Stein.
     
New Government Guidelines to Increase Student Budgets for Computer Purchases   The U.S. government has approved the inclusion of computer expenses as part of a student's academic budget. You may request an increase in your budget (up to $2,500 maximum) to allow you to receive/borrow funds for hardware and/or software purchases. You are required to submit receipts to increase your budget. If you plan to continue your studies in the next academic year, refer to the SED Graduate Programs Bulletin for instructions on applying for financial assistance for your continuing studies. If you have any questions, stop by the SED Graduate Financial Assistance Office to speak with Joe Stein or Esmie Alfred.
     
Entrance Interviews and Stafford On-Line Promissory Note   Are you a first time loan borrower in SED? All first time Federal Stafford Student Loan borrowers must complete an entrance interview. Your loan money will not be credited to your student account until you complete an interview. You must also complete a Stafford On-Line Promissory Note.

Deferrments on Previous Loans   Deferrment requests on previous loans may be submitted to the University Registrar's Office, 881 Commonwealth Avenue, 2nd Floor, once classes begin.
     
Credit Release/Cash Advance   Any scholarship/loan recipient who has a credit balance on his/her student account may receive a refund of that credit by submitting a Credit Release or Refund Request form. Cash advances on pending funds may be available in cases of emergency, once classes begin. See Joe Stein or Esmie Alfred for information and appropriate forms.
     
Graduate Access, TERI, and/or Other Loan or Outside B.U. Award Recipients   Joe Stein to find out how these funds are disbursed by the lender/donor, get posted to your student account, and eventually get refunded to you, if they generate a credit
