Marjorie Dawn Engel, 41, of Morris Plains, NJ passed away after a long illness on April 9, 2007.
Dawn graduated from Morristown High School, where she was an All-American swimmer and a Nationals swimmer at the Lakeland Hills Y.M.C.A. in Mountain Lakes, N.J. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with a B. A. in business and anthropology.
Dawn participated in the Outward Bound Program and was selected to participate in the Operation Raleigh Expedition to Australia. During her world travels, she met and maintained relationships with many loyal friends.
As an employee of Johnson and Johnson/Ortho Pharmaceutical Company, she distinguished herself in sales and was named the 1991 New York Area outstanding divisional institutional representative of the year. She was product manager for J&J International in Madrid, Spain.
At the time of Dawn’s passing she was working tirelessly in the field of character growth and development. To this end she developed the program hosted on this website, called Virtues and Vices which is based on Aristotle’s Theory of Virtues, which Dawn was able to quantify. This program was an integral part of our relationship in that it provided the basis for our communication and love. The process can be used on several different levels, from personal relationships to corporate processes. It was Dawn’s fervent hope that it would help others as it helped us. Virtues and Vices was Dawn’s dream. She felt that many of the virtues that made this country so great, and upon which it was founded, have been lost.
Dawn and I shared the vision that they be returned to prominence. Dawn was (and still is) my soul mate and the love of my life. She will be missed. |
