  Steven S. Tigner, PhD

 

A former secondary school teacher of physics and chemistry, Steven S. Tigner is professor emeritus of philosophy at the University of Toledo. He has been active for many years in school programs funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and served for two years at the Endowment as program officer of Summer Seminars for School Teachers. A professor of education here at Boston University, he currently teaches Cultural Foundations for Educators at Boston University's School of Education and serves as a lead scholar in many of the CAEC Teachers Academies. He has written and lectured extensively on a range of topics from preSocratic philosophy and America's Founding Documents to Harry Potter and the Good Life.
