Transcripts
Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended are required.  Transcripts must show course titles, dates, and grades.  Additionally, transcripts for programs for which a degree was earned must show a degree conferral.  Degree conferrals must include the name of the degree conferred, month and year the degree was conferred, and the institution from which the degreed was conferred.

Transcripts must be original documents bearing the institutional seal and signature of the institution’s registrar.  Official transcripts must be submitted in envelopes sealed by the institution’s registrar. Transcripts may be mailed directly to the Graduate Admissions Office or to the applicant directly to be included with other mailed materials.

If you are a college senior, please request your transcript only after your fall grades have been posted-typically in January of your senior year.

International applicants whose transcripts are not in English should submit the original transcript and an official English translation.  International applicants who have earned a degree outside the U.S. may also need to submit an official credential evaluation.   Typically, credential evaluations are required when the international transcript does not indicate either that a baccalaureate degree has been received or that the degree received is equivalent to a baccalaureate degree.

Letters of Reference
Two letters of reference are required.  Submitting more than two letters of reference is allowed, but not required.  Reference providers may submit letters on paper or online.
Letters of reference should come from individuals with whom you have studied and/or under whose immediate supervision you have worked in a professional capacity, or others whom you believe to be in a position to offer pertinent appraisal of your skills and ability.

Placement folders may be used as a substitute for the letters of recommendation. Please direct your school to forward your placement folder to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

Online Reference Letters:  To initiate the online reference process, applicants should complete the ‘Recommenders’ section of the online application.  Upon completion of this section, an email will be sent to your reference provider with instructions on how to complete the online reference form.  This option is only available to applicants using the online application.

Paper Reference Letters:  To initiate the paper reference process, applicants should complete the top section of the Letter of Reference form. Then, applicants should provide the reference provider with the form and a return envelope. The reference provider should complete the form, seal the form in the return envelope, and sign his/her name across the envelope seal.  The sealed envelope(s) should be submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office.
