International Students

Do I have to send financial documentation with my application?

No financial or visa documentation is required for the application for admission. International applicants who have been accepted to the program will be required to submit documentation to the Graduate Admissions Office in order to initiate the I-20 process.

How long does student visa processing take for international students?

Accepted international students who require a student visa will receive information on the documentation required for BU to process an I-20 form, the form the student will take to the embassy in order to request a visa. Once Admissions has received all required documentation, it typically takes about one month for all processing to occur and for an I-20 to be sent via FedEx to the student.

Visa application and processing times will then vary by country. Students should contact their nearest embassy for information on visa application procedures.

Where can an international student find information about acquiring a visa, health care requirements, etc?

The International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) have its own website at which you will find the answers to most of your questions: http://www.bu.edu/isso/.

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students at the School of Education benefit from the community feel of a small school along with the resources of a large university. Our students are in the field in both urban and suburban schools as early as their first year at SED.

Graduate Students

Talented graduate students from around the world prepare to become teachers, counselors, administrators, and more in as little as one year at the School of Education. Our students engage in diverse aspects of education both in the classroom and the field.
