Professor Katherine Frankel was published in the research journal, IRA E-ssentials. IRA E-ssentials is an online peer-reviewed journal published by the Intergenerational Literacy Association (ILA) providing timely, practical ideas for teaching literacy in today’s classrooms.
Professor Frankel’s article, Reading Interventions: Yesterday’s Theories, Today’s Pedagogy, and Tomorrow’s Teachers, examines “the theories of reading that underlie different reading interventions.” Frankel co-authored the article with P. David Pearson, University of California, Berkeley. Frankel and Pearson provide examples of various intervention programs to illustrate the intricacies of reading instruction.
