Cournoyer to direct BU/Malden Gateways for English Language Learners Summer Academy

SED’s Amy Cournoyer, lecturer in the Literacy and Languge Education cluster, will serve as Project Director for the Summer 2013 BU/Malden Gateways for English Language Learners Academy. The program is designed to help middle school English language learners in Malden accelerate their language, literacy, and content knowledge and skills while enhancing the understanding of habits of mind, critical thinking skills, and intercultural awareness and competence. The overarching theme of the academy is navigate your way to success and we will feature special guest speakers including Moise Fokou, NFL Football Player for Titans and Ishmael Beah, author of A Long Way Gone Memoirs of a Boy Soldier.

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students at the School of Education benefit from the community feel of a small school along with the resources of a large university. Our students are in the field in both urban and suburban schools as early as their first year at SED.

Graduate Students

Talented graduate students from around the world prepare to become teachers, counselors, administrators, and more in as little as one year at the School of Education. Our students engage in diverse aspects of education both in the classroom and the field.
