Professor Gaynor Honored With Newly Established Prize Fund
Professor Alan Gaynor has been teaching at Boston University’s School of Education for over 40 years. During his time, he has worked on a multitude of projects including his major work related to project planning and the application of organizational theories and system dynamics to the analysis of organizational problems and opportunities. In addition, Professor Gaynor is currently serving as Director of the Human Resource Education Program.
During his tenure at the School of Education, Professor Gaynor has also inspired his students, who have continued on to great things after their academic career at Boston University. Past doctoral student Jon Derek Croteau a “deep and sincere appreciation for all [Professor Gaynor] did for me while a doctoral student at BU, and for all [he] continues to do for me today.
Jon Derek Croteau, who works as a senior consultant with Witt/Kieffer’s education and not-for-profit practice, expresses a great gratitude for Professor Gaynor. A prize fund established by Croteau, alongside his husband Justin, will be renamed in honor of Professor Gaynor.
The prize fund, formed a few years ago, will be renamed the Alan K. Gaynor Prize Fund. Jon Derek Croteau will also work to have the fund fully endowed within a couple of years, and will continue to build it up over his lifetime.
Dean Hardin Coleman of the School of Education thanks the Croteaus for their recognition of Professor Gaynor, their “generosity to the next generation of learners this gift represents, and [their] faith in this School of Education to continue the tradition of education and caring Alan models for us.”
