Funding opportunity for research and travel:

The Graduate Research and Scholarship Award (GRASA)  is a competitive award given to students to support research and travel to present at scholarly meetings. Students in the Masters and Doctoral degree programs are eligible to apply if they are in good academic standing.

The deadline for Fall graduate student research and travel to present at a national/international conference is due October 15.  The application and more information can be found at: http://www.bu.edu/sed/grasa/ .  Eligible applicants are those that have made a presentation or begun research since July 1, 2013 or have a conference application or research study that will occur between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.  There will also be a Spring application.

First pub night of 2013-14

The GSA will be hosting the first Pub Night of the year this Thursday, 03 October 2013. We will meet in the lobby around 7:00 p.m. and head across Commonwealth Avenue to Scoozi. Come meet some other students and have a slice of pizza on us.

Join the BU School of Education community for Fall Convocation 2013. Fall Convocation is an annual event held at the beginning of the year to bring the School of Education community (faculty, staff, students, and alumni) together for a discussion about pressing education issues. This year’s Fall Convocation will be a debate featuring the candidates running for mayor for the city of Boston. The questions will focus on education in the city of Boston. The event will consist of a student panel, town hall, and a meet and greet with the candidates. The event is free and open to the BU community at-large, as well as the general public. BU community members will have priority access to tickets. Join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter: Current students will be able to have their voice heard through social media. Students should post their questions on the event wall below, or tweet questions @BU_SED using #SEDDebate
