HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATORS AND INDUSTRY CONSULTANTS TO OFFER BUSINESS SOLUTIONS FOR HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT

(Boston, MA) — Administrators from New England hospitals and medical schools, including Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Northeast Rehabilitation Health Network, and Harvard Medical School will speak on the business of health care at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences on Saturday, March 22, 2003 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free for members of the press.

Sally Deane, managing partner of Strategic Healthcare Innovations, LLC, a business and management consulting firm for the health care field, and a Boston University professor, will deliver the key note address, “Navigating Sea Changes in 21st Century Healthcare: Implications for Survival” at 8:45 a.m.

The program will then offer workshops on entrepreneurship, management, business ethics, compliance issues, technology, skill building and career management for health care professionals including nurses, doctors, and rehabilitation experts. Students, managers, health care practitioners, media and others are also invited to attend.

Experts will share their knowledge about the state of affairs in health care, discuss priorities for future planning, and suggest management strategies that attendees can use to build their careers.

Admission is $40 for the public and Boston University community, $35 for Sargent College alumni and $10 for current Boston University and Sargent College students. Admission is free for members of the press.
