Sargent Student Organizations
Student Council
Comprised of elected representatives from all classes, the Student Council works to promote activities and a strong sense of College unity. The council initiates social events, lectures, and community service opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. Heather Nicholson is advisor to the Student Council and Class Officers.

Class Governments
The members of each Sargent Class select four officers and a representative from each major to provide leadership for that class. Fundraisers are held to support class activities. Class Officers and representatives work in collaboration with the Student Council. Elections are held annually.
Dean’s Hosts
Dean’s Hosts are students selected to volunteer their time as ambassadors for Sargent College. They give tours to prospective students and their families and participate in recruiting, open houses, and phone-a-thons. Dean’s Hosts are chosen through an application process—students must have sophomore standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA to apply. Heather Nicholson is advisor to this program. To apply, please download the application.
Peer Counselors
Peer Counselors serve as role models for incoming students and advise them as to how to make the most of the college experience. They offer study groups, focus groups, registration parties in conjunction with faculty advising, and mentoring within the Freshman Experience Seminar. The Peer Counselors also serve as Big Siblings to the freshmen and incoming transfer students. Students must have sophomore standing with a minimum 2.7 GPA to apply. Deborah Claar and Heather Nicholson are the advisors to this program.

Student Representatives to the Sargent Alumni Association Board
Two students are selected to serve on the Board as liaisons from the student body. These representatives help alumni with suggestions and activities that bring alumni and current students together.
Sargent College Honor Society
This organization offers programming and opportunities to all Sargent College students, faculty, and staff, including professional development lectures and other events featuring alumni speaking about their professional experiences. Sargent juniors and seniors who have a GPA in the top 10% of their graduating class are invited to join the Honor Society and to attend the fall induction ceremony. Deborah Claar and Melanie Matthies are the advisors.
Other Organizations
There are also professional clubs and associations that students can join, such as the Occupational Therapy Club and the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, to name a few. Contact your program for information.
