How to Set Up the Copier as a Printer in Windows

For desktops at Sargent that use Windows 7:

  1. Open the Start Menu and choose Devices and Printers
  2. Click Add a Printer
  3. Click “Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer”
  4. Click “The printer that I want wasn’t listed”
  5. Click “Select a shared printer by name,” and in the box below that type one of the following (please note that you must use backslashes [\] instead of the usual forward slashes):
    1. For the 2nd floor machine, type: \\sar-pqn\Ricoh2nd
    2. For the 3rd floor machine, type: \\sar-pqn\Ricoh3rd
    3. For the 4th floor machine, type: \\sar-pqn\Ricoh4th
    4. For the 5th  floor PT/AT machine, type: \\sar-pqn\RicohPTAT5th
    5. For the 5th floor OT machine, type: \\sar-pqn\RicohOT5th
  6. Click Next
  7. At the “You’ve successfully added…” page, click Next
  8. At the next page, check the “Set as default printer” if you want the Ricoh to be your default pointer, otherwise leave it unchecked
  9. Click Finish
  10. You’re ALMOST done. Follow the Windows 7 instructions on this page to set up your user code.

To Make the Copier/Printer your Default Printer in Windows 7:

  1. Open the Start Menu, and choose Devices and Printers
  2. Right-click on the printer you want to be the default printer (i.e., “Ricoh…”) and select Set as Default Printer
  3. Close the Devices and Printers window
