Computer Lab

Located in room SAR 236, consists of 21 PCs and one Instructor station, all running WindowsXP, Office2003, Firefox, SPSS, and some curriculum-related software. The lab also has two dedicated duplex laser printers.

A number of instructors use the lab to supplement classroom teaching. To aid in this use, a video projection system enables images from the instructor’s computer to be displayed on a projection screen to the computer lab. Faculty may request to have specialized curriculum software installed. Instructors may reserve the lab by calling the MRC front desk at 617-353-4201.

When the lab is not being used as a classroom, students may use it for word processing, e-mail, CourseInfo, and other course-related work. There are also ten computers and two laser printers in the MRC (Room 235) for student use.

Thanks to donations made by the Class of 1947 and the George Alden Trust, the computer lab opened in 1997 and was renovated in 2005 with new computers and furniture.
