How to Apply

Undergraduate Programs

You may apply for admission to any undergraduate degree program in Sargent College. Or, if you haven’t yet decided on a specific major, you can apply to the undeclared program and take up to two years to choose the program in which you’ll earn your degree.

The central Boston University Admissions Office handles applications to all undergraduate programs at BU. For information and an online application, please visit the Boston University Undergraduate Admissions website.

Graduate Programs

Applied Anatomy and Physiology

Please note that all applicants wishing to apply to the Applied Anatomy and Physiology Program must apply online using the BU Online Application for Graduate Admissions

MS program deadline: January 15
Doctor of Philosophy program: Applications are considered as they are received. To be considered for financial aid, apply by February 1.

Nutrition

DPD/MS/DI, MS and non-degree DPD programs: Please note that all applicants must apply online using the BU Online Application for Graduate Admissions. Postmark deadline is February 1. Late applications will not be reviewed.

MS/DI Program:

The MS/DI participates in the ADA Computer Match through D&D Digital, 304 Main Street, Ames, Iowa 50010. Telephone: 515-292-0400.

Prospective students can apply to our combined MS/DI program using the On-Line Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Service (DICAS).  Please note the following  when applying to our program using DICAS:

1) Official GRE sores must be received by February 15. This can be done in two ways:

a. Enter the Sargent College code (3028) when you take the GRE. The scores will be sent directly to our admissions office.

b. Request that the testing service send the scores to:

2) The personal statement must be limited to a maximum of 500 words.

3) The personal statement must ONLY answer the following question:  ” What qualities and skills will I bring to my studies and eventual practice in the field of nutrition and dietetics?”

4) Recommendation forms should be completed by individuals who are familiar with your academic ability and/or professional work experience.

5) Late applications will not be reviewed.

Occupational Therapy

Please note that all applicants wishing to apply to the Occupational Therapy Program must apply online using the OTCAS application.

Please be aware that OTCAS is a Centralized Application system and there are additional application requirements for the MSOT program.

Suggested deadline: January 15 (earlier deadline for Fall applications)
Afterward, admission is considered on a space-available basis.

Physical Therapy

Please note that all applicants wishing to apply to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program must apply using the PTCAS application.

Deadline: December 15

Rehabilitation Sciences

Please note that all applicants wishing to apply to the Rehabilitation Sciences Program must apply online using the BU Online Application for Graduate Admissions

Application review for fall begins in mid-January.
To be considered for financial aid, apply by January 15.

Speech-Language Pathology / Audiology

Please note that all M.S. applicants wishing to apply to the Clinical Speech and Language Pathology program must apply online using the CSDCAS application. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Students interested in the Combined MS-SLP/PhD Program should apply online using the CSDCAS application and indicate this goal in the essay with a description of their research interests and choice of faculty mentor.

Applicants wishing to apply to the Research PhD in Speech and Language Pathology or Audiology must apply online using the BU Online Application for Graduate Admissions

Transfer Student

If you are or have been enrolled as an undergraduate degree candidate at another college or university, you may apply for transfer admission to Sargent College. Please see Transfer Students for details.

Intra-University Transfer Students

To transfer to a Sargent College undergraduate degree program from another school or college within Boston University, please see Intra-University Transfer Students.
