Application Procedures
The Continuing Student Financial Assistance Application and the BU Sargent College Graduate Application for Financial Assistance are available as a .pdf file through an electronic download. To view and print the application, you need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader software, available free-of-charge from their web site. If you already have Adobe Acrobat Reader click on Download.
Application Procedure for Current Students
- Complete and submit a Continuing Student Financial Assistance Application (due March 1st) to BU Sargent College Room 207 (Academic Services Center) and maintain a 3.0 GPA. (For more information on downloading the application, see below).
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a renewal form by March 1 or go on the Internet at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to file.
- If you are under 24 years old, a signed copy of your parents' tax form as well as your own is required for Boston University/Sargent College need based scholarship consideration. If you telefiled, you need to send a signed copy of your worksheet with your confirmation number recorded.
Application Procedure for Prospective Students
- Complete and submit the BU Sargent College Graduate Application for Financial Assistance with your application for admission to be considered for Boston University need based scholarship or by the April 1st deadline. (For more information on downloading the application, see below).
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the address on the envelope provided in the application by April 1st. A graduate student is independent for federal loan and work study purposes and should not submit parental information on the FAFSA. Boston University's institutional code number is 002130, or you can apply over the internet at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- If you are under 24 years of age, submit a signed copy of your and your parents’ Federal tax forms, to be considered for a BU need based scholarship. Tax returns may be submitted after you have received your acceptance letter to the program or by April 1.
