Loan Entrance/Exit Counseling Sessions
Any student who is a first time borrower of federal loans at Boston University must complete Entrance Counseling. The student can complete the requirement online at http://dlservicer.ed.gov or http://www.bu.edu/finaid/loans/index.shtml . If you have difficulty with the online version a paper copy may be obtained from the Sargent Financial Aid office (Room 217.) Once completed, the paper copy should be submitted to Janet Turner$rsquo;s mailbox in the Student Academic Support Services (SASS) office (Room 207 at Sargent College) or the Financial Aid office (Room 217 at Sargent College).
Any student who has received federal loans must complete an Exit Counseling session before they graduate or once they fall below 6 credits/semester. The Office of Financial Aid makes every effort to contact students to inform them of their group counseling sessions. The students may also complete their exit counseling session online at the Direct Loan Servicing web site or The Boston University Office of Financial Assistance web site. Any student who is graduating but has not completed their exit counseling session will have their diploma placed “on hold” until they have satisfied the requirement.
