International Students

International students are not eligible for federal or Boston University need-based financial aid. When you apply for admission to BU, you must submit evidence of financial support for your educational and living expenses.

A limited number of Sargent College merit scholarships are available to international graduate students. There is no separate application process; award decisions are based on admissions applications. If you receive a merit scholarship award, you’ll be notified in your letter of acceptance.

International students are also eligible for assistantships, which are awarded directly from the department to the student. Learn more about assistantships.
