Exercise Science

An Exercise Scientist studies the basic human sciences. In addition, they have intensive clinical experiences that prepare them for positions where exercise is used either as a modality in rehabilitation or as a preventive measure in any number of programs intended for the development and or maintenance of physical fitness.

What Does an Exercise Scientist Do?

  • Exercise leadership roles
  • Works as a personal trainer
  • Works in corporate/industrial fitness
  • Works in cardiac rehabilitation programs
  • Conducts clinical research
  • Goes to Graduate School for any of the following:
    • Exercise Physiology
    • Physiology
    • Physician’s Assistant
    • Nurse
    • Public Health Careers
    • Physical therapy

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum)
  • Master’s Degree
  • Ph.D. or M.D.
