Rehabilitation and Human Services Minor

The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences offers a minor in rehabilitation and human services for undergraduate students at Boston University interested in a general introduction to the concepts and functions of the rehabilitation and human service practitioner. The minor consists of six courses (24 credits).

We are currently not accepting students into the Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services program pending curricular revisions.

Required Courses

SAR RC 601 Philosophy and Principles of Rehabilitation
SAR RC 603 Medical Orientation to Rehabilitation
SAR RC 605 Psychological and Social Aspects of Physical Disability
SAR RC 611 Illness and Disability: The Role of the Family in Treatment and Rehabilitation
Plus two from the following courses:
- SAR RC 500 Helping Skills
- SAR RC 533 Counseling Issues in Rehabilitation and Human Services
- SAR RC 604 Career Development and Job Placement
- SAR RC 607 Alcohol and Drug Abuse: Treatment and Rehabilitation
- Students must receive a grade of B- or better in each course.
