Assistant Professor of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences

AB, Bryn Mawr College; MA, Wesleyan University; PhD, Brown University. Dr. Singh’s research is in the field of infant speech processing and early word recognition. She is primarily interested in the relationship between speech processing capacities in infancy and later vocabulary acquisition and in the effects of variability (e.g. changes in talker, speech rate) on early word learning. She has additional interests in the role of vocal affect in communication development both in typical populations and those with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Finally, she is also currently conducting research on memories for birth languages in adopted children.
