Kenneth G. Holt
Associate Professor of Physical Therapy
BEd, Nottingham University (England); MS, Pennsylvania State University; MS, Boston University; PhD, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Holt’s main research interests include biomechanical and nonlinear modeling of human gait. He is particularly interested in applying models to understanding motor control and development and gait disorders, including those associated with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Parkinson disease, and the elderly at risk for falls. His research and clinical interests also extend to abnormal anatomy and the resulting biomechanical causes of common chronic musculoskeletal injuries. He is the Director of the College's Barreca Motion Analysis laboratory. The U.S. Department of Education, the Physical Therapy Foundation, and the National Institute of Aging have supported Dr. Holt’s research. He is a Fellow at the Center for the Ecological Study of Perception and Action, University of Connecticut. His collaborations have included the U.S. Army Research Unit (USARIEM), Natick, Massachusetts and the Division of Kinesiology, University of Michigan. His professional affiliations include the International Society for Ecological Psychology and the American Physical Therapy Association. He has published and presented his research extensively in psychology, motor control, biomechanics, and physical therapy forums.
