MedPage Today: Nutrition and ICU- Early Marker for Survival
(1/14/14) Instructor Kris M. Mogensen quoted.
“We found that in a large population of adult critical illness survivors, malnutrition near ICU admission is a robust predictor of 30-day readmission rate. It is clear that ICU patients who survive to hospital discharge suffer significant long-term morbidity and mortality. Malnutrition may be a prognostic and potentially modifiable marker for critical illness survivors who are at high risk for adverse out-of-hospital events.”
