Boston University’s International Students Consortium (ISC) is an organization that strives to unite the diverse student body that we are so fortunate to have. Our club embraces both domestic and international students and provides them with opportunities to mingle and to learn about new cultures. We believe it is of utmost importance to make a concentrated effort to bring together the myriad of students at Boston University and to make them aware of one another’s customs. Also, we strive to help international students adjust to a new environment, while recognizing the significance of interacting with American students. Our club aims to promote diversity on campus and we currently have more than 400 members. The officers of the ISC are themselves excellent representatives of the University’s global student body; they come from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Turkey, Philippines, and the United States.
The ISC collaborates with the other cultural groups on campus and sponsors events such as monthly dinners at different ethnic restaurants and foreign film nights. Our focal event is the annual International Students Ball, which has been a huge success. In addition, we provide members with information about cultural events sponsored by other Boston University student organizations, as well as cultural events in Boston.
