Background
Gonzalo Carretero Martínez obtained his BA in Spanish: Language and Literature at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. His main research interest lies in the short novel of Hispanic Literature. The particular focus of his research is works by early modern authors, especially Miguel de Cervantes, and their relationship with both medieval and contemporary authors from Hispanic and Italian Literature. A secondary field of interest is Narratology and the Digital Humanities, deriving from his background as a programmer, spotlighting the techniques that enable scholars to reach the structural level of literature.
