People

The Department of Romance Studies is home to 45 full-time faculty, part-time Lecturers, 36 Teaching Fellows in Spanish and French, and other graduate students pursuing the MA and PhD in French or Spanish. Our faculty in French was ranked #1 nationally in research productivity by the Chronicle of Higher Education. Our offices are located in two places along Commonwealth Avenue. With the Linguistics Program at 621 Commonwealth Avenue, while French, Spanish, and Italian are located at 718 Commonwealth Avenue. The teaching and research resources of Romance Studies are enhanced by those of our sister department, Modern Languages and Comparative Literature.  Together, these two departments have over 9,000 enrollments per year, teaching language, literature, culture, and linguistics to students from CAS and throughout Boston University.
