Research Interests
Mr. Wells studies medieval French and Occitan (troubadour) literature. His academic interests include troubadour lyric poetry, Old Occitan prose biographies (vidas) and commentaries (razos), the narrative reframing of lyric poems, prose versions of verse romances, and romance "translations" of classical stories and texts. He is also interested in the theory and practice of literary translation.
