Magdalena is especially interested in the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque periods.  During her studies for her PhD with us, she hopes to explore themes of identity and the juxtaposition of bitterness and humor in the literary treatment of time.  After completing her MA in Hispanic Language and Literature at Boston College several years ago, Magdalena has returned to BU, where she did her undergraduate work in International Relations.  Since completing her MA Magdalena has taught Spanish at the secondary school level and has worked on writing and editing Spanish course materials.
