Background

Sophia received her French Baccalauréat from College Marie de France in Montréal, Canada. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the Université de Montréal in Québec and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph in Ontario. Her Masters thesis focused on the historical underpinnings of design theory as a way to explore how landscapes express cultural attitudes towards nature and human beings.

Sophia is currently completing her Masters of French Literature at Boston University. Her research interests include the portrayal of the Parisian landscape, gender studies, and cultural identity in 19th century French novels. In 2011, she served as an instructor in a French language immersion program in the Loire Valley in France.
