Ms. Webb began her French studies at Bennington College, where she focused on the heroic figure as a social construction in 19th Century novels. Through her master’s and doctoral work at Boston University, Ms. Webb has continued to refine her interest in socially constructed identity, especially as it relates to explorations of gender, sexuality, and power dynamics. Her other interests include the use of setting as character and subversion as a force for social change. Ms. Webb won an award for excellence in teaching in 2010.
