Research and Teaching

Professor Zaderenko is the author of Problemas de autoría, de estructura y de fuentes en el “Poema de mio Cid” (1998), and has just completed a new book about the complex relation between Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar and the Monastery of Cardeña, where the Spanish hero was buried. She has written on a wide variety of topics related to the Spanish Middle Ages, centering on Historia Roderici, Poema de mio Cid, Siete Infantes de Lara, Mocedades de Rodrigo, the romancero, and the sentimental romance. Her articles have appeared in La Corónica, Revista de Filología Española, Revista de Literatura Meideval, Filología, Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Dicenda, Olivar, Letras, and Temas Medievales. She has lectured and taught seminars at Harvard, Yale, Brown, Cursos de Verano en El Escorial-Universidad Complutense, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, and Universidad de La Plata.

Professor Zaderenko teaches courses on medieval poetry and prose, epic poetry, the sentimental romance, and the history of the Spanish language.
