Research
Dr. Avcikurt has been at Boston University since 1995 and has served as coordinator of LS 111 and LS 211. She has also taught at Harvard University and at Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey. She is currently the course head for the Spanish Reading and Translation sequence (LS121, LS122, LS221, and LS222). Her doctoral research examines language change in the Judeo-Spanish speaking community in Istanbul.
