Research

Dr. Tonetti was educated in Italy, and specialized in literature and philosophy. She teaches Italian language and film in the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures and has also taught in the College of Communication. She is the faculty advisor of La Casa Italiana and the Head of the Italian language program.

She has published two books on Italian Cinema: Luchino Visconti (G.K. Hall, 1983; Paperback Edition, Columbus Books, London, 1987; Third Edition, Simon and Schuster, 1997) and Bernardo Bertolucci - The Cinema of Ambiguity (Simon and Schuster, 1995).
