Research
Professor Jackson specializes in the literature of the Enlightenment. She is the author of Rousseau's Occasional Autobiographies as well as articles on Diderot, Laclos, Staël, Voltaire, and Isabelle de Charrière.
She teaches courses on autobiography, the philosophes (collectively and individually), eighteenth-century theater, and epistolary fiction from Ovid to Colette. She particularly enjoys working with individual students to develop their critical writing, and she has supervised student research on topics ranging from Marivaux's novels to the Encylopédie.
