The Online Chemical Inventory Management module in RIMS is currently undergoing beta-testing by a number of PIs. Investigators will be able to track all of their chemicals online, listing them by rooms in their laboratories. In addition, a link to the MSDS for each chemical is clearly displayed next to the chemical in the inventory. Radiation permit holders are currently beta-testing the Radiation Permit application feature of RIMS. Soon Radiation-associated forms and applications will be online through RIMS, including permit applications, isotope ordering, radiation waste handling, and dosimetry badge requests. Radiation Use Permits are now available online through RIMS. Applicants will now submit new applications for Radiation use permits, as well as renewals and amendments to current permits through the RIMS application.
Additionally, the Chemical Inventory module in RIMS is now active. Labs will now maintain their chemical and gas inventories through RIMS. OEHS staff will help with this process and be available to answer any questions.
