The full-time staff, faculty-in-residence, and students who make up nearly 400 employees of the Office of Residence Life (ORL) are dedicated to enhancing a student's academic experience by creating civilized, learning-friendly communities within campus residences.
Under the guidance and direction of twenty-six live-in professionals, the ORL team delivers a broad range of programs and services to students, including specialty housing, the residence hall associations, outreach and education about health and wellness, the faculty dining program, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, enforcement of residential rules and regulations, and information about campus resources.
ORL is one of few departments at the University with an on-call system that allows staff to be available to assist students, parents, and members of the University community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
With more than 11,000 students living in 145 residences, the ORL team manages one of the largest, most complex residence life programs at any private university in the nation.
This website is designed to give you insight into the various functions of the department, but the best way to get to know the Office of Residence Life is to get to know one of our staff members. We hope you become an active member of our dynamic residential community!
