The Future of Space Exploration: Solutions to Earthly Problems?

April 12 - 14, 2007

This two-day symposium will consider scientific and technological issues surrounding discoveries such as Earth-like planets around Sun-like stars and observational evidence for dark energy; questions about the viability of space tourism, entertainment, colonization and resource mining to solve problems on the Earth; alternative propulsion systems; extraterrestrial intelligence, and the tantalizing possibility of biological evolutionary paths that may be significantly different from those seen on the Earth.

Hosted by The Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and the Center for Space Physics
