CANCELED: Biotechnology Modernization Strategy: Perspectives from Defense and National Security, with Dr. Alexander Titus

Please note this event has been canceled. In 2019, the Department of Defense (DOD) established biotechnology as an enterprise priority. Dr. Alexander Titus, Assistant Director for Biotechnology in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering, will lead a discussion on how the DOD is seeking to engage with academia to advance U.S. biotech, to include technical capabilities, infrastructure, data, and workforce. Dr. Titus will speak to opportunities for biotechnology to provide distinctive technological advances to the DOD and the nation. Additionally, recognizing that biotechnology is not inherently a defense technology, he will describe ways in which the DOD is seeking to be a strong partner to industry, academia, and international allies.
