Radiation Safety
Overview
The Office of Radiation Safety is responsible for ensuring that all clinical and research uses of radioactive materials and ionizing and non-ionizing radiation generating devices throughout Boston University and the Boston Medical Center are safe for workers, patients, and the general public, and are in compliance with all applicable regulations. These responsibilities are carried out by implementing a program for authorizing and controlling their purchase, use and disposal. Programs have been established that provide guidance on how the materials and devices are managed. The programs are listed below.
