Training

LASC offers both regularly-scheduled group classes and hands-on training for individuals or small groups. Please use the contact form to register for all classes.

Regularly Scheduled Classes

New Researcher Orientation Session
  • This introductory session is required for access to the animal facilities.
  • Use the above link to access dates and times.
  • Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
  • Cut off for registration is noon time the day before Orientation.
W-9 Rodent Barrier Orientation
  • This orientation session is required for access to the W-9 rodent barrier facility.
  • If you are attending the New Researcher Orientation Session, W-9 rodent barrier will follow right after.
  • If you have already attended a New Researcher Orientation Session, you will need to to register. We will contact you with a date and time.
670 Albany Street Barrier Facility
  • This orientation session is required for access to the 670 Albany Street facility.
  • The LASC office will contact you to schedule an appointment for the orientation and training session

Customized and Special Training

BL2 Biocontainment Suite
  • This orientation session is required for access to the Biocontainment facility. We will contact you with a date and time.
Training in animal handling and biotechniques (bleeding, injection, anesthesia, aseptic surgery)
  • If you or you lab members need training in any aspect of animal use, we have a library of references and videotapes, and can also offer hands-on wet lab training by our veterinary staff.
Nonhuman Primate, Herpes B Training
  • This training is required for access to the NHP area.
  • The LASC office will contact you to schedule and appointment for training.
