Policies That May Affect IACUC Protocol Submission And Review
To all BUMC Investigators:
On behalf of the Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee, please be aware of the following policies that may affect IACUC protocol submission and review.
Pre-review process
We encourage you to review your protocol with LASC veterinary staff prior to completion and submission of your application to IACUC. This is especially encouraged for investigators who have survival surgery protocols.

Please note: a charge will be assessed to review any protocols from outside vendors or companies. Please contact the IACUC office at 617-638-4263 for more information.
Please note: that you may not purchase animals or perform animal work using an expired protocol. If your protocol is approaching expiration you will need to submit a renewal if you plan to continue your research. Protocols should be submitted at least two months prior to your renewal date to ensure approval prior to expiration.
