Stratigraphic Micropalaeontology (1958-1960):  Graduate (M.Sc.) Study of environment-controlled evolution of fossilized microfauna in Mesozoic-Cenozoic sedimentary rocks of Gabal El-Sharawna, near Esna on the west bank of the Nile Valley, Upper Egypt.

Porosity and Permeability Measurements (Summer 1959):  Laboratory methods of measuring porosity and permeability of sedimentary rocks at the Eastern Oil Company Laboratories, Abu-Rudais, Sinai, Egypt.

Meteorite Mineralogy (1964-1965):  Research work on the identification and textural relationships of meteorite minerals with Professor Paul Ramdohr at the Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg, Germany.
