Welcome to Boston University's Recycling website. BU Recycling is part of the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. We work to provide a comprehensive recycling program on our urban campus. We strive to connect our community with the information and tools necessary for sustainable living at our university.

The Recycling Program:

Within the past decade recycling of paper, cans, and bottles has become available throughout student housing on campus. Paper recycling is also available in offices and academic departments throughout campus. Ink cartridge and electronics recycling is also available by contacting our office. These services are available due to a collaborative effort between Facilities Management and Planning, the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, the Office of Residence Life, the recycling company Save that Stuff, and of course, the students, faculty, and staff.

Mission Statement:
The mission of Boston University's Recycling Program is to implement a convenient, safe and cost-effective recycling program that is available to as many people as possible. We rely on participation and feedback from faculty, staff and students to continously expand and improve upon existing programs, as well as to develop new recycling/sustainability initiatives. Since recycling at BU is just one action the institution and its members may take to increase sustainability, we strive to provide additional information about sustainable living so students are aware of how to lessen their environmental impact.

Thanks to everyone for coming to Earth Week!

Earth Week was a lot of fun this year, and we want to thank everyone who came and supported us and the other Boston University Groups. If you'd still like to look at the calendar of events, visit the Earth Week page. There was also a lot of press on Earth Week. We got an article in BU Today, an article in the Daily Free Press, and even a shout out on MSNBC.com!
