Rates
Recording
Recital Recording (for Boston University students only)
- $90 fee, payable by Visa/MC, check or cash. (includes recording fee and 1 compact disc)
- $120 for recitals performed at Marsh Chapel
- Fee must be paid 2 weeks prior to recital date.
Note that recital recordings that involve tape playback, sound reinforcement monitoring, or any unusual circumstances may involve an additional fee.
Recording Sessions (open to the public)
- $50 per hour for BU affiliates (Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumn with a two hour minimum, includes recording fee and rough takes CD)
- $80 per hour for non-affiliates ($75.00 per hour with a two hour minimum, includes recording fee and rough takes CD)
- Payment is due at the end of the recording session. No recorded material will be given to the client until payment has been made.
Recital/Concert Recording for Non-School of Music or Non-BU Individuals/Groups and Remote Recordings
- Fee will depend on location and length of performance. Please call us or send us an email to ask for rates for your particular performance.
- Fee is due 2 weeks prior to the performance date
- 1 CD master is included.
Other Services
Computer Audio Editing/Mastering
- $50 per hour
- Payment is due at the end of the session
- 1 CD master is included in the cost
CD Duplication
- $10 per copy. Discounts can be given if more than 5 copies are ordered.
- This cost also applies to concerts recorded by the Recording Studios.
Cassette Duplication DAT Duplication
- $10 for a cassette copy
- $20 for a DAT copy
Other Fees
Plano Tuning Fee
- Piano and/or harpsichord fees must be discussed with the CFA piano tuners (617-353-3894).
Please note that the preceding rates are basic charges for basic services. The CFA Recording Studios reserves the right to amend these fees for projects which are unusual or exceptionally labor-intensive. We will be happy to discuss your project with you.
