Casey is a first year Master of Theological Studies student specializing in Religion and Conflict Transformation.  Originally from Colorado, Casey came to Boston to attend Tufts University as an undergraduate.  She developed a passion for the field of International Relations, and came to see religion as an integral component of world affairs.  Casey came to BUSTH specifically to participate in the RCT program and hopes to pursue a career in interfaith dialogue and international affairs.  She says, “Growing up in a very conservative small city, I never saw Christianity come into dialogue with other cultures and religions until I moved to Boston.  A foundational knowledge of other religions and the ability to dialogue with people of different faiths and cultures are essential for a peaceful future in today’s world.  I hope to help spread that knowledge and build peaceful relationships across borders in order to build a more peaceful future.”  Casey hopes to continue travelling and gaining international work experience during her time at BUSTH and beyond.

Casey writes, “After only a few months working with Thomas Porter, I already feel as though I have gained numerous new skills for resolving conflict.  The RCT program has helped to shape the ways in which I approach my other classes here at BUSTH, giving me a lens for searching out and understanding new information.”
